SQL BI

Great Resources For Learning DAX Specifically And Power BI Generally

If I could chose the people that I have learned most from in Power BI it is definitely from Marco Russo and Alberto Ferrari from SQLBI.

Their book, The Definitive Guide to DAX, was the first book that I read related to Power BI. It is often called “The Bible of DAX” because everyone have one in their bedside table.

  • The book is a very comprehensive guide of DAX, covering everything from what DAX is, basic functions, evaluation and row context, to how the the engine behind DAX works.

  • Their Youtube page is a great way to learn more specific DAX functions with a lot of short videos describing the different functions.

  • DAX Patters, another of their books, can be used kind of like a “Cookbook” in Power BI, where you can find most used patterns, which is especially helpful when working with Time Intelligence.

  • They have online courses, several other books and great blog articles that are coming out every week.

  • Other projects are DAX Formatter, Helps format DAX code, and DAX Guide, guide to all DAX functions.

Curbal

Comprehensive Content About Power Bi, Best Youtube Channel I Know About Power BI

Curbal is guaranteed the Youtube channel that I have used the most when working with Power BI.

Ruth, who owns the channel, has tons of tips about both DAX, Power Query, visualization, certifications and much more.

I do especially love the DAX Fridays.
In the DAX Fridays playlist she has more than 200 videos about different ways to handle DAX measures explained in a very easy and understandable way.

She also have many videos, as well as courses, regarding Power Query and the M-language, which are great.

At her homepage she has a DAX Glossary, with links to all the DAX Fridays. If you need to understand a DAX measure better, go to DAX Glossary and the related video.

Besides this she has a large community with 30 000+ members and a lot of other extra resources available.

Conclusion
